Tunku Azizah Royal Craft Village

Royal town of Pekan

The village

Planning for the development of Pulau Keladi to become a development center is not just for weaving development alone. The idea of this rebranding is to upgrade this complex as a craft center in Pahang. Pahang as a state rich in arts, heritage and culture is seen as an important need for such a center. All types of traditional craft art will be collected locally and developed systematically for future preservation. After almost ten years of development, it is time to give a new look with a more exclusive touch, so with this the craft center in Pulau Keladi will be known as the Tunku Azizah Royal Craft Village. The development comprises all the components that will be upgraded soon include IKTPD Meriam Tengku Ampuan Besar, the birth place of Tun Abdul Razak, Queens Hall, Masjid Melayu Pahang, Cheminah Sayang and student dormitories. Apart from that, the new components involve the construction of new building blocks, craft art workshops, infrastructure additions and improvements to existing buildings to meet the needs of visitors such as cafes and rest houses with a traditional concept such as Haji Mohamad Dahan’s house.
